Making it
Things have been kind of nuts. Finals are coming up and I can't wait till the end of the semester. Come Christmas.
Work is going crazy. We are designing like nuts for a PGA trade show in Orlando. We are designing all new packaging, a trade show booth, a catalog, brochures, and so much more. Pressure from our Korean manufacturer is pretty heavy to get things in soon. Pressure to hurry isn't the only thing up against us. Language barrier, different styles in different cultures, and more are making so much harder to be a designer.

The photos you see above do not reflect the finished product. This is the French/English version for the Canadian market. Note that the product is measured in millimeters — one source told us this was what they wanted, then Golf Town said to go with inches. The finished product is the same, but with the units changed to inches.
In designing our booth, Steve drew up a concept that was simple and sleek. Unfortunately, the Korean market doesn't like simple. We are trying to find a way to meet in the middle. One of the biggest challenges I have ever faced in design is when the client wants something that I (or any designer) feels is bellow par. Still, the biggest successes is when the finished product meets the clients needs and still ends up being a good piece. With the ideas we threw around yesterday, I think we might be able to pull it pull it off.
One thing that I did for Koviss that I was able to do without any kind of resistance was their corporate site splash page. You can see it here. The fun new thing I learned was how to do the foreign characters (fun? haha).
